Today we decided to get a little sightseeing in; so we drove through the Alpilles back to Les Baux for a tour of the old fortified city. Jean-Pierre’s wife, Claire, works at the Tourist Board in Les Baux. We stopped by as she was breaking for lunch, but she insisted on giving us a world-class tour; climbing the hill up to the Chateaux. Claire has an exceptional knowledge of French history and it was an enjoyable tour. The weather today was picture-perfect and I took many shots of Chateaux Les Baux.
After our tour, we stopped halfway down the hill and had a simple lunch on the patio of a small café.
This was Jack and Betty’s last night in Eygalières before heading back to Paris. We decided not to dine out, but to pull whatever we had in the fridge and make a dinner, which is exactly what we did. The meal was simple but wonderful, with more excellent wines.
