Rise and shine at 4:45 a.m. to get to Charles de Gaulle airport for an 8:30 flight to JFK, with a connecting flight to MIA. Our flight left on time from Paris and took 7.5 hours to reach NY. After a quick trip through Immigration and Customs, we checked our luggage onto our , 2.5 hour flight to Miami, and adjusted to the realities of being back in the States, everything from the food, to the bustle, and the New York accents, which sounded harsh compared to the French we had gotten accustomed to. We arrived in MIA right on time, 3:30 p.m. and found Delta had left David’s suit bag in NY. Fortunately, it was delivered the next morning, albeit at around 6 a.m.

Our trip was great and it was wonderful seeing our friends again. The dialysis staff in both Paris and Tours were delightful, and asked if I’d be coming back to see them again. The food was beyond words, and the beauty of the French countryside never fails to inspire us. Overall, the trip was everything we had hoped.
