We reluctantly left a sad little Lucy and headed off to the airport and our flights to California. We’re sure she will forgive us for leaving her and greet us with kisses when we return.
A quick on-time hop put us on in Atlanta with plenty of time to make our connection, despite the fact that – as usual – the connecting flight was leaving from a concourse in another zip code.
Our flight to San Francisco was smooth and uneventful, but the time passed slowly, as the only in-flight entertainment was The Grown Ups, possibly the worst movie ever made, and the in-flight meal almost edible.
We landed a tad early in San Francisco, and in short order were checking in to the Mandarin Oriental, our favorite hotel in the City by the Bay. Given our dining experience in-flight, we opted for a light snack in the lobby lounge, which was excellent, then headed off to sleep.
All in all, not a bad travel day.
